Overview:
I was born and raised here in San Diego, and feel very lucky to now have the opportunity to work with ClubXcite to help children reach their full potential. I believe that all children have the ability to learn and grow, all while having lots of fun!
Education: I am a recent graduate of UCSD's Class of 2015, with a Bachelors of Science in both Biology and Psychology. Within a few years, I am planning on applying to medical school in hopes of furthering my studies in psychiatry and treatment.
Experience: Even before I began college, I loved working with kids and helping them learn. I grew up in a very large family, and have always helped tutor younger family members. In high school, I worked with friends volunteering in a local program, StArts, which focused on offering arts and music afterschool programs to neighborhoods around San Diego. I also interned at Rady Children's Hospital in the Child and Adolescent Services Research Center, working to optimize behavioral interventions for young children with autism in both classroom and one-on-one settings.
Hobbies & Skills: Aside from mentoring, I love curling up with a good book or playing a few video games. I also love visiting family to play with my adorable younger cousins. In order to stay fit, I participate in a few sports as well. I often train with UCSD's Taekwondo team, where we work on competitive sparring.
Why ClubXcite? I admire ClubXcite's philosophy that focuses on motivating children to both reach their potential and maintain their personal happiness. It is inspiring to see the dedication that the members of ClubXcite have towards encouraging and supporting these children, and I am very excited to be a part of this team.
