ClubXcite has a variety of different San Diego Summer Programs for kids and teens ranging from academic tutoring to our sports and adventure camps in San Diego.

We have put together a summer tutoring program in San Diego that balances the needs of parents and their child. Parents want their child to catch up or get a head start academically and children and teens just want to have fun. ClubXcite’s summer tutoring program matches your child with one of our academic tutors to come to your house a couple times a week and work specifically on areas of weakness. Our tutor will contact your child’s current teacher to find out what areas they can work on and get materials.

After the tutoring session our fun college-aged tutor can take your child to the beach, play sports or transport him to a summer camp he may be involved in. On the days your child has the tutoring session, he or she can also take part in our Xcite summer camps where we go to water parks, boomers, nickel city, bowling, etc.

If you are interested in this program for your child or teen it is important that we start the process before school ends so we can talk with the teacher and match you with our best tutors.

CAMP RISE ABOVE

Not all children have success in a typical summer camp environment; especially children and teens who experience ADHD, anxiety disorders, impulsivity, mood disorders, OCD, Asperger’s, and other social or behavioral challenges. However, San Diego’s Camp Rise Above, run by ClubXcite, understands how to create an environment where these children can have fun, make friends, build confidence, and have a successful camp experience.

ClubXcite effectively uses a unique personalized approach with a 3 to 1, camper to staff ratio. Camp Rise Above staffs their Camps with experienced Counselors, most of whom work year round for ClubXcite as a one-on-one after school mentor or tutor. They provide personalized social and behavioral support. Counselors focus on areas such as peer interaction, positive communication, social appropriateness, transitions, attitude, problem solving, behavior, boundaries, and time management.

Evan Kirstein, Camp Director, takes a hands-on approach with the camps; leading each one and having consultations with parent’s before camps begins. Parents share their social or behavioral goals and Evan learns information regarding the child’s triggers and interests. Stefan Hochfilzer, ClubXcite President, states, “ Parents often comment with how amazed they are when they pick up their child and see the excitement in their eyes, hear the stories they tell about their successful day, and how this positive experience has changed their child’s demeanor at home with less negative behavior being displayed.”

Parents often wonder “How do you guys do it?, What’s your secret?” Stefan explains that “Its our individualized approach, our small group environment and our ability to “go with the flow of the kids”. In order to give parents more details about how their child is doing in camp, Evan provides parents with detailed tracking sheets documenting the successes and growths of each child during the week. This feedback is useful to the parents but also to any other professionals working with the child. Through photos and updates on ClubXcite’s interactive Facebook fan page, parents are given the full picture of their child’s camp experience.

Camp Rise Above keeps a set schedule of events each week. The Tennis and Sports Camp in San Diego takes place every weekday morning from 9am to 12pm. Adventure Camp is from 12:30 to 4pm. Mondays and Thursdays are packed with fun activities such as museums, parks, bowling, arcades, lazer tag, and gaming centers. Water Parks are on Wednesdays and Tuesdays and Fridays are beach days filled with games, pizza and boogie boarding! Camp Drop off is located in Carmel Valley but Camp Rise Above also provides at home drop off and pick up.
