ClubXcite is an awesome program to be a part of because it gives mentors valuable experience working hands on with kids and allows them to learn in a safe and fun environment. I am excited to be a part of this organization this Fall and in the future.
Education: I graduated from Righetti High School in Santa Maria, CA in 2007 and I'm currently a Senior at University of California San Diego majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a Mathematics Minor.
Experience: I have been a math and science tutor for Kipp Adelante Middle School in downtown San Diego and am currently a math tutor in the Calculus Lab UCSD. I am currently an undergrad studying Mechanical Engineering at UCSD and hope to become a successful engineer working in San Diego in the near future. I enjoy helping kids overcome their fear of math and helping them grow as students and as individuals.
Hobbies & Skills: I enjoy Soccer, going to the beach with friends, snowboarding, spending time with family, and learning to play the guitar. I love being outside, living so close to the Pacific Ocean and exploring new parts of San Diego.
Why ClubXcite? When I first heard about ClubXcite it seemed like a great opportunity to get involved with kids in San Diego. I’ve always loved to build things and learning about how things work, so the Mechanical Builders Program seemed like a perfect fit. Teaching kids how to build new things like bottle rockets, catapults, bridges, and robots is a blast and it also gives them a hands on learning experience with science and engineering.
